Colours

Last week I posted some colour palettes and said how I was bored with my interiors and that they seemed to be too neutral? I sent my dilemma to Rachel at Hue Consulting.

Above is an example of the palettes she created for me, but do go have a look at her blog and read her suggestions.

I'm leaning toward the palette with the aubergine and the brownish neutral for our living room. We currently have a yellow toned neutral in our living room and it doesn't do much for the other neutrals. Plus, it's been three years since it was painted so it needs a change.

A bit of a switch from the current bright red accents to aubergine toned red and our living room should look much more inviting.

I'll use the same neutral for the other walls, and the paint one wall in each in a different colour from the other palettes as an accent wall.

The boys are getting separate rooms and I think the celadon green and sky blue will be perfect for each of them.

And what do you know, Flexa have those exact colours in their ready-madeVT-Wonen series! No waiting for paint to be mixed.

The weather seems to have switched to autumn so it seems a great day to stay indoors, wouldn't you say?

How are the boys getting seperate rooms? Are you giving up the computer room?

I really like the aubergine. :D

I agree - the aubergine/pink/brown palette is very welcoming. It's amazing how colour can transform a room.

So you are happy with the suggestions? i had a lot of fun using your photos as inspiration for the palettes. I would love to see your finished results when the rooms are painted.
