What we did on vacation (or I have no witty title for this post)

There's been some of this ...

Archery at Club Med

Some of this ...

Joe eating sweets

Lots of looking at this ...

Pretty flowers

And a bit of this (on realisation that we only have one full day left) ..

The melancholy of the second last day of vacation

That last picture is heartbreaking. But obviously a good time was had by all.

Wow, kids with bows & arrows ... You are a brave woman, Ash! LOL.

I'm glad you're having a great time. Our beasties are enjoying their holiday week, too, and so far (knock wood) there are no complaints that we've stayed home for it. The amazing weather has helped a lot on that score!

Ashley: I was intrigued by your comment a while back that in Holland there are no cold medications available at the chemists. What do people do when they come down with a cold or suffer seasonal allergies? Must they go to a doctor for a prescription? Is this more expensive for the patient? Thank you and best wishes.
John

Ash: Hi John, well, it's pretty simple, you just go without unless you travel abroad and can stock up ;)

There are no decongestants available, but there is paracetamol. If you have allergies there are some nasal sprays available, but nothing on the same level as we were used to in South Africa or in England. We were just in France and my husband bought some beclamethasone nose spray for hay fever over the counter. That doesn't happen here.

Until recently you couldn't get ibuprofen (nurofen) for kids here, but thankfully that's changed. There are still no decongestants available for children and no cough mixtures containing guaphenisin (which is weird as it's a very safe and effective cough reliever).
