Boys in the wild

Ah, look at my babies. Aren't they beautiful?
This was taken today at the garden where Seb earned 2 euros for weeding the onion bed and carrying the bundles of weeds to the compost heap without complaining.
Note the last two words in that sentence. Those two words are very important!
Joe fed slugs to the chickens, carried spinach leaf after spinach leaf tirelessly back and forth to the chicken run and helped his brother to earn the 2 euros.
Yesterday they had a haircut. The haircut exposed little bits of untanned skin around their ears and neck.
They always look a bit ... overplucked ... when they've had a haircut. It takes me a while to get used to them again.
In the car today Joe said, 'When Sebastian was born you called him Sebastian, and when I was born you called me Joe, and then you called yourself Mama.'
And indeed I did.

I love kids' simple but spot-on logic. Nicky was rather shocked to recently realize that my name was Barbara, not simply Mom. :)
Love watching your gardening progress, and enjoying pictures of the boys. :D
Oh they are gorgeous :) Love what Joe said. You can't argue with a child's logic.
Because, of course, you couldn't have been named Mama before then. How lovely.
I've neglected posting my reactions for far too long. I do read your posts!! I think that's just touching when your child says that, beautiful boys. Kids always seems to have aged somehow after a haircut when I seem them like that.
Oh, that is an awesome remark. Right on, Joe.
They are lovely boys. Attractive intelligent faces. You must be so proud.
Well done for growing these as well as your vegetable garden!
Best wishes
Fiona

What beautiful and hard-working sons you have. Shall we arrange the marriages right now and be done with it? I can offer spirited daughters, with artistic and tree-climbing talent and a great line in absurd humour.
It looks like you had a good day on the allotment.
