Unfortunately, not the liquorice kind!
If you live in Holland and are worried about global warming, go check out how far below sea level you live.
I live a whopping -4.1 metres below sea level! Good thing I'm on the 6th floor!
Ever wondered your chances of staying married/ending up in prison etc based on your IQ? This chart tells you.
I was most interested in the marriage statistics and the crime statistics. Does the lack of incarceration in the 130+ IQ range mean they're just too clever to get caught? The depiction of serial killers in tv series is always as these uber-smart Hannibal Lecter types. Makes you think doesn' t it? Especially when you're married to one of those super-smart types ...
Unfortunately I can't credit the image of the table as I'm not entirely sure where it came from. If someone reaches this website through a search and wants me to credit the table, please leave a note in the comments!
I got my volkstuin! We're deep in garden planning here! I'm thinking leeks, peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, sweet peas, peas, beans, roses, herbs, lavender, onions and garlic. Do you know that there are virtually no dishes cooked in this household that exclude onions and garlic? If everything they say about them is true then none of us will be dying of cancer anytime soon.
Check out Karen's 'kattentongen' or langues de chat, don't they look nice?
Speaking of cats, our has the hiccups and has been shadowing me all day and hiccuping incessantly. It's just about as annoying as having the hiccups yourself, plus I'm concerned about hairball manufacture. Ick.
Finally, before I run off to do mommy things like be 'swimming mother', I have a great time-saving recipe to pep up your pasta dishes, so check back with me later!

Oooh, I covet your Volkstuin! One of my favorite things to do when I lived in Watergraafsmeer was to go walking through the volkstuins. Actually, I think I'd only want one of my own if it came with its own gardener and all I had to do was photograph it :) Can't wait to see some pictures. Congrats!
Hey! Gefeliciteerd on the volkstuin. Do you have real green thumbs? I have to say mine are black..and that is not because I am down on my knees in the soil all the time.. Actually I more like Alison, just photograph, take the produce and cook!
Don't know if you've had vegetable gardens before, but there's a book I'd like to recommend if you hadn't. It's called: The Vegetable Gardener's Bible.

Congratulations on the volkstuin!
Today was Nicky's first "real" day at school and I'm exhausted! LOL!
