Three Truths and One Lie - Scroll down for the answers!

1. I seriously considered working for a sex chat line (oh watch my google ads go now!) when Sebastian was a few months old. I wanted a job that would let me stay home with him and yet match my salary from working in my standard job at the University. I went for interviews, met the other staff (retired 'professionals' who were so well groomed you would never guess), and took a few calls to see what it would be like. I was shocked at how lonely some of the men sounded and at the percentage of calls that weren't about sex at all, but were more about just wanting someone to talk to. My 'tag line' was that I was a bored housewife with time to play! Ultimately, I declined the job and went back to my dull office life, but I always wonder how different things might have been.
2. When I was sixteen I was so in love with a boy, that I ditched work at the company I worked for as receptionist, rode my bike 15 kilometers and spent the day in bed with him. Unbeknownst to me, when I didn't pitch my work had rung my aunt, who arrived at my boyfriend's house, with his mother in tow and they both caught us in flagrante! It was terribly embarrassing. We broke up and I was broken hearted for months. I never saw him again. Four years later he had his commercial pilot's licence and died in a horrific plane crash involving a runway and electrical pylons.
3. I met my first husband when I fell off the stage at a Bodybuilding Competition. I had been assisting the Master of Ceremonies by being the girl in the high heels who hands out the prizes. In a clumsy moment, which swiftly became one of pure terror, I tripped over a speaker cable lying across the floor. My ex saw me about to fall, put down his plate of food and caught me just before I hit the ground.
4. When we lived in Cape Town on the side of Devil's Peak, Brad and I used to walk on the mountain regularly. One of our favourite activities was taking a picnic basket and watching the boats in the bay from high up on the mountain. The only bad part was that the fog could sweep in so suddenly that it could get dangerous up there. No-one needs Mountain Rescue coming to get them. We loved it though, so much natural beauty.
Which one doesn't belong? Tell me in the comments and I'll update with the answer in a couple of days.

Unfortunately, #4 is the lie! Everything else is true. I'm surprised at how many people worked out that #4 was a lie, maybe because it was so different to the theme of the other 3. I shall have to make more of an effort to lie topically.
My ex-husband was a sound engineer working at the Mr Zimbabwe competition when I fell into his arms. We were ridiculously unsuited, and remained unsuited until we divorced 4 years later. I was 18 when I met him. But what a way to meet, don't you think?
I met my current husband (god, that sounds like I am in the market for another one!) over the wonderful medium of irc. It's a good way to get to know a person before being misled by their public persona.
And the mountain? Well, we lived on the side of it for 5 years and I regret to say that we never ever went up the mountain. We just didn't think about it. Obviously we walked in our neighbourhood but, not having a car and walking everywhere or taking public transport, the lure of walking uphill for fun just didn't appeal. Of course, it would all be different if we lived there now.
Francois was spot on with his estimation. Brad didn't like going outside a lot when we lived in Cape Town, but now that we live here he is surprisingly outdoorsy. Within reason of course. You can't just put geeks in the great outdoors without some kind of entertainment. Thus his PSP and his Blackberry accompany him. There's even wireless internet at the playground ;)

Number 4 I would think, Brad outside? Not possible (:
Hmm... My vote is on #3. But you must be a very good liar, because they all sound true!
I'll go with number 3.
mmm after much thinking I would have to say 3.
Yep, I'm going with three, too. I can't picture you tripping over a cable. ;>
Definately #4 (#1 and #3 sound the most interesting, though...)
I don't know you (new reader..) my guess is 3?
Nx
LOL- my choice is three! I can absoulutly see you doing the sex chat thing. BTW- Happy belated birthday.
Hello Ashleigh! I am American of an expat from the States living in Enschede. I'm a quilter and knitter also. What city do you live in? I enjoyed reading your blog!!!
Such fun! I love this. Okay, I was going to guess 3 too, but considering everyone else has, I'm going with number 1.
I really have no idea, but I'm wildly impressed that at least three of those stories are true! I'll definitely be back to see the outcome.
You simply MUST write your memoirs! I want the full story of falling into the arms of Mr. Zimbabwe. ;>
1. This needs to be expanded in a separate blog post. That is amazing that you tried that out. I thought I was daring attending a speed-dating event!
3. What a way to meet. You almost had to marry him. :)
No kidding. That is too funny! Congrats on your 10 years. What an accomplishment!!
Great stories. You'd be wonderful holding the floor at a cocktail party.
Thanks for providing the answers before I got round to guessing - I would never have known. The Cape Town answer seemed perfectly feasible to me, but then I don't know your husband. Great post ... and yes, you'd be good value at a dinner party!
It's funny how you met your two husbands in such completely different ways. Can they be any more different?
Hmmm... this is quite difficult! Choosing between the first 3, because number 4 sounds quite viable, I'd say, at a guess, no. 2 is the lie??? But who knows, maybe the one I thought is the definite truth, no. 4, is the lie ;)
