Fimo Giraffe Pencil Holder

Fimo Giraffe made by Brad

Isn't it funny, how after ten years of marriage your spouse can still surprise you?

Not by suddenly deciding to do the woo-woo thing on the way to the shower, realising that he really loves loading the dishwasher, or discovering fetishes you never knew he had, but by helping the kids to make a Fimo giraffe, and displaying an incredible aptitude for it!*

I'm all fingers and thumbs with modelling clay. Give me a pair of knitting needles or a needle and thread, or a sewing machine, or ask me to bake something, but please. No modelling clay.

Brad, on the other hand ... Well, you can see the results above.

His mom paints and he used to draw a lot as a kid. I think we've discovered who the arty parent is in the household. I see more Fimo in Brad's future! Not to mention the Das kit I have stashed away.

This giraffe came as a kit. The neck is a pencil and he pops out of his holder so you can write with the pencil. Isn't he cute?

* Not to mention the lurrrrve that a mommy feels when she sees the father of her children making something with them. And no, a lot of noise does not count as 'making something with the kids'.

Hello Ash,

Thanks for the note you posted up on my blog! Lovely to meet (albeit in cyber space) another mother in Amsterdam!

Please stay in touch.

Where are you from?

Hi Ashleigh, I love to read about your cooking and have trouble trying to keep from drooling on my keyboard. Was wondering if you could tell me, what does that veggie Romanescu (sp?) taste like? It looks like a cauliflower crossed with a broccoli. Happy New Year to you and your family.

I'm in awe!! Apart from making noise and ::whispering:: the shower thing my husband is not known to "create" anything else...
Well, (still whispering) we do have these three great kids, and we managed to have two at one time...
