Oh crap, crap. crap.
Picture this scene:
The Mom, standing with heavy bags, stops on the balcony walkway to talk to neighbour while two angelic looking children, dressed in Benetton sweaters and with coiffed hair, run ahead.
Beautiful kids start tossing acorns from the sixth floor down toward the parked cars underneath.
Kids get told gently not to. Kids continue throwing.
Mom drops her shopping and screams and yells (in two different languages).
Car, a new model black Fiat Punto, develops paint chips on the roof.
The Mom will now have to explain why the angelic looking kids were so bloody naughty.
The insurance is standing by waiting for the call.
Crap crap crap crap.
(Oh, and there were witnesses so The Mom can't even run and hide).
Crap.

Oh you poor thing. If it's any consolation it's the sort of thing my boys would have done too. Just keep admitting in your mind that it was wrong and apologise and maybe the person won't take it further. Fingers crossed.
Oh boy am I glad we don't live 6 stories up or this would SO be me!!
When my husband was a boy living in Turkey, he and his brother were leaning over the balcony rail SPITTING on the patrons at a sidewalk cafe below.
I won't tell you what his father did when he was notified. I'm sure he would have much preferred to have acorn tossers for sons instead of vile spitting serpents : )

A friend of mine is known to have said in similar circumstances: "oh my, do you have a problem? We have insurance" Picture angelic voice and dito smile, and the victim coming up for air, gasping...
I'm so sorry to hear this, but I can't help smiling, I can see you standing there, shoppingbags et all doing the superb Nanny-Frost-thing and in an instant switching to a Mom from Hell in two languages, yes now I am rofl! This is me too!
