A Case of Mistaken Identity

I should remind myself never, ever to talk to people on instant messenger without really thinking about who they are first.

Today's blog installment is brought to you by the confusion caused when who you thought you were talking to was a knitting friend, but who you were really talking to is an old friend from IRC, who is male, young, handsome and distinctly does not knit.

Here's the transcript, for your amusement :)

[12:30:14] eel EET: sitting in hotel room in amsterdam right now

[12:54:03] eel EET: I need to make sure when the best day is
[12:54:20] ashjanemeier: it's all a bit mad until 8 pm when the kids are in bed, but you are welcome to come over whenever you are ready and just chill
[12:54:29] eel EET: I will need to chat to my coluegues before I commit

[12:55:43] ashjanemeier: I'm talking to the wrong person ;)
[12:55:48] ashjanemeier: I thought you were someone called viv
[12:55:52] ashjanemeier: who is also has Eel in her nickname
[12:55:58] ashjanemeier: so that's why I was surprised ;)
[12:56:06] eel EET: blink
[12:56:10] ashjanemeier: now I know who you really are and htat you have absolutely no interest in knitting ;)
[12:56:12] ashjanemeier: LOL
[12:56:19] ashjanemeier: hehe
[12:57:04] ashjanemeier: you must have been as confused as I was ;)
[12:58:36] eel EET: little bit
[12:58:43] eel EET: I would have to get my knitting skills up fast
[12:58:50] ashjanemeier: sorry, its too hot - brain is fried
[12:58:52] ashjanemeier: hehe
[12:59:49] ashjanemeier: so, you're not a german lady who likes to knit then? ;)
[12:59:54] * ashjanemeier gets the giggles
[13:00:41] ashjanemeier: how embarrassing!
[13:00:51] ashjanemeier: her nickname is 'eelsonwheels'
[13:01:01] eel EET: you seemed very excited which felt great
[13:01:11] ashjanemeier: well, I'm still excited - heh :)
[13:01:18] ashjanemeier: and you can still come over just minus the knitting
[13:01:24] ashjanemeier: and the monty python
[13:01:29] ashjanemeier: she is a monty python fan
[13:01:47] eel EET: arent we all monty python fans
[13:01:50] ashjanemeier: NO!
[13:02:13] eel EET: ok let me rephrase
[13:02:16] eel EET: arent we all comedy fans
[13:02:33] ashjanemeier: probably, but not to the level that KO takes it
[13:02:48] ashjanemeier: I just picked up my dudes from school and I was trying ot talk to the personal trainer and they were being *pests*
[13:02:59] ashjanemeier: so the idea of taking off to a woolshop with a german lady was very appealing :)
[13:03:10] eel EET: it confused the hell out of me
[13:03:25] eel EET: I am going to amsterdam central now
[13:03:35] ashjanemeier: have a good time
[13:03:39] ashjanemeier: ring when you want to come over :)

I'm off to go rearrange my brain somewhere :)

tee hee, Ash - you just brightened my (dull working) day. In fact, I *wish* I was sent to Amsterdam for business trips..especially when they involve being wined and dined..though, had it been me, I'd probably have cancelled business dinner(s) and watched TV with you instead.
Hugs

It would have been funny if he met you at the wool shop and only then you realized the mix up. hehe

Propositioning men by inviting them to join you at the wool shop?

Oh my Ash, I didn't know you were prone to showing your woolies to men other than Brad. ; )
