More Blog Envy

Ah. More blog envy :)

For droolworthy baking check out Cream Puffs in Venice Oh my oh my! The more weight I lose the more I am into food porn. I read in the UK Good Housekeeping about this mother who became anorexic whilst feeding her family more and more elaborate meals. Hmm. Luckily I have a long way to go before that happens ;)

My latest 'who I want to be when I grow up', Ms Lazy Cow in Australia. Reading her 'My Philosophy' entry made me wonder what I'm doing here exactly, and 'Is it time for a drink yet?' made me laugh enough to cure my very sore tummy!

Pea Soup comes across as self-deprecatingly erudite. Like dipping into a novel by one of those uber-cool woman authors - Alice Hoffmann, Annie Proulx, Alice Munro et al. Which brings me to a question. Why do all the prominent female authors (the ones I like anyway) have names starting with A? Is it to get into the first bookcase at the library? Does one have more opportunity of making it in literary fiction with a name starting with 'A'?

Canadutch, a Canadian living in Holland who found me whilst searching online for Crocs in the Netherlands. See, there is a purpose to writing about Crocs after all!

Yvonne at Yvestown loves playing house. And what a beautiful house it is too!

The Shape of a Mother. This is so good it needs it's own post, but I'm lazy. This site has been linked from just about everywhere, but please submit your photos. Women need to know what other women look like after pregnancy and birth. After all, we don't all share the European sauna culture thing (where I have seen more naked bodies in the last year than ever before in my entire life).

Beautiful embroidery at Craft Corner. Wow. My favourite is the Richelieu work on the butterflies.

Veronique la Brodeuse has re-opened her blog at a new location. If you missed the visual feast, now you know where to look.

There's not much sense to this list, like most things during the school holidays. I'm afraid the lack of routine makes me somewhat muddled.

I like sharing blogs that inspire by way of writing, or photos or just because something they write seems to resonate with me. I hope some of you will share your list of blogs that made you have an 'aha' moment this week.

Ash, I came over from the Legacy a while back admiring your wonderful finishing and stitching, and have been reading your blog pretty regular. From your last blog envy I book-marked David and V-grrrl, along with Farmgirl. I have tried her tomato salad and it is the best I have ever made. Although I spend a bit more time reading blogs now then I do stitching - thanks for posting your favorites.

It is so fun to have new blogs to check out. Thanks for this great post! (And it looks like I'll be in Zim in March!)

I happened to find your blog from a link on another site. Oh, I love your blog!

I spent a month in Amsterdam last year. It was so much fun. I looked and looked for a needlework store because I wanted to buy some Dutch designs. I never did find any. Do you know of any shops that are online?
Cheers,
Dee

Hi, thanks for the compliment (and as I've met the wonderful Pea Soup I can say she's as interesting in real life as on her blog!) I'll be back to check out all your archives very soon...

This week one of the post's that really inspired me was on Wordgirl's blog. The entry was called Transition

And Ashleigh, have you noted that your name begins with an "A"? We expect literary fiction to pour from your printer now. : )

And Angela, thanks for adding me to your list!

Uber-cool and erudite.

I'm speechless with amazement and gratitude! (And a little disbelief really).

Thanks for such lovely words.

Just wandered in here from WLR and have read a few entries. Highly entertaining blog you've got here... and as I lived in Laren (just outside Hilversum) for half a year, I enjoy reading about other expats lives.
