It's a Miracle (otherwise known as 'she did some crafting')...

SamSarah's Simple Heart SamSarah's 'Simple Heart For You'

Picture this. Domestic tranquillity - Brad is back at work, the kids are play-doh'ing and K'nex'ing respectively and I can update my blog with stitching news. What more could a person want?

There is no toilet paper, so I guess I could want some of that, but that would require a trip downstairs, which I am not entirely ready for, still being in my pyjamas. There's only so much purposeful frightening of the neighbours that a person wants to do ...

Of course, now that I've pointed out the tranquil state of the household, the play-doh'ing and K'Nexing are bound to go wrong and my life will disintegrate to the random screeching that punctuated it yesterday, but hey, it's good for now, right?

So, onto the stitching! I finished a Lorri Birmingham needleroll for my Not-so-Secret-Stitcher in the USA. I had this in my collection for ages, and when I was sorting out stash to sell, I thought 'aha, this will do for Jenny!' So I stitched it. I hope she can include it in a summer-time display in her home.

Her daughter asked why I didn't stitch a Dutch one. I don't actually know of any Dutch needleroll patterns which are proudly patriotic. Odd, because in terms of patriotism, Holland is right up there with the USA. Maybe one of our Dutch designers can get to it? I can see it now, clogs, windmills, flags, a bit of the 'Oranjegevoel' ...

I also finished a Simple Heart for You from SamSarah shown above. I was convinced I wrote about this before, but in my bout of jitis I must have forgotten. It was a freebie design with a button pack from Needlecraft Corner.

I've finished it so that it can be yet another hanging sachet. I love making these. I like how they're secret little things that hide inside my closet and really only get seen by those who know about them.

Hmm, Freud would have loved that.

Oh my! Ash, that sachet is exquisite! And so well presented - what a wonderful picture, like the second one. Thank you for the eye candy! :)

I don't think we're not very patriotic in France (except during the soccer World Cup!). I could never come to terms with the American flags displayed at the front of so many houses when I lived in NC. I hope this won't offend anyone!

Oh, now I want to make one of those sachets :) I love those primitive heart shapes.

Beautiful stitching and finishing. Your photos are very nice as well. Now I simply must track down that SamSarah heart design. I just have to add it to my stash. Thanks for enabling me.

I love handmade things and it is, as one of my commenters said, like mental yoga to work with your hands. Those sachets are beautiful.

Love these new projects, Ash! And you've got me wondering about the Freud-xs connection ... what would he make of our adorable little smalls? Hmmm.

Hi Ash,
I've just spent the loveliest half hour or so reading all your August entries as I've fallen dreadfully behind in my blog reading. I've clicked lots of interesting links and oohed over your stitching and exchanges. Great stuff - all of it! :D
