Friends Bearing Gifts

This week was a great mail week for me! I received two beautiful parcels, one from my Quaker Exchange partner, Donna, and another from my Not-So-Secret-Stitcher friend, Jenny.
This beautiful needleroll was from Jenny. She made me the one second in from the left, beautifully stitched with the little bee. I think its a Shepherd's Bush design, but I'm not sure. One way or another it's a wonderful addition to my collection, which is steadily growing. Jenny also sent me some Gumnut 'Buds' threads from Australia which are absolutely beautiful, a chart from Chessie and Me, called Gather Thy Roses and a wonderful little monogrammed note set in pink (my favourite colour!) with a gorgeous pink pen. I am so spoiled.
I'm working on a complicated gift for Jenny, but its taking *forever*. I just hope I can get it done before the end of my year as her Not-So-Secret-Stitcher partner!
My other lovely gift was this wonderful Quaker cushion from Donna. Isn't it just beautiful? I love the ribbon finishing and the buttons. We've been moving stuff around in my bedroom and doing some renovations (excuse the half painted wall behind the cushion), but soon I'll have a basket on my dresser with all my cushions in it.
I'm working on an exchange for the Redwork Exchange on the SBEBB. It's well ... red ... and its stitched over one. I like it a lot, I just need to find some nice red gingham for the bits that go with the embroidery.
Thank you Donna and Jenny for making my week special. I love receiving hand-crafted gifts, and when they are as beautiful as these, I am doubly appreciative. Tomorrow I plan to try out the lightbox idea and see if I can get some better photographs of these stunning gifts.
