I saw this swap mentioned on stitchmarker and had to sign up.

I love the idea! I've already put together my recipes and now I'm working out what to make. I have some ideas for how to make the recipes (the actual pages) kid-proof but I'm waiting for my partner details to see if they suit perfectly.

I hope I get someone who has kids the right age for my ideas!

I have some ideas and I've seen some cute stuff in the shops for kid cooking. This has me all excited!

You should ALL join up, right now!

In other news, as you can see from the picture, we have 'what to do with a half-quilted quilt'. So, what do you do with a half-quilted quilt?

You make a quilthouse of course, by throwing the quilt over two chair backs.

Today's pic* is my latest quilt being a playhouse for Seb to read in. This is about half quilted, and that's the backing fabric you can see in the picture. I'm trying to quilt very densely and randomly (in straight lines with the sewing machine) to get a puckered look. Right now it kind of looks like a mess. I hope it improves! If not, I know just what to do with it. I can leave it to be a playhouse quilt!

*I took about 20 pictures and this was the only one that didn't blur. The kids don't sit still long enough!

I have a lot of fond memories of blankets and chairs becoming forts and castles when I was a kid. :) My kids seem to love those games too. Maybe it is a universal kid thing?

How about plastic-laminating the pages, and binding them in a ring-binder ?
Recipes can then easily be added in alphabetical/category order, and are waterproof and wipeable.

Thanks for the idea Gary :) I'd thought of that already. Thing is - I need to know how old the kiddie is that I'll be designing something for in order to work out what kind of thing will work.

Laminated pages are great for older kids. For a little one I was thinking of printing onto cloth and making a washable cloth book.

Waiting for July 1 to see who my partner is before I work out what I want to do!

Deb, I'm sure that the fort thing is a universal thing. I can remember taking all the cushions off the living room furniture to make 'houses'. We weren't allowed to do it that often so it made it more special when we could!
