Today we took the car and the kids and went to a football tournament hosted in Krommenie itself by Sporting Krommenie. It was a huge event with lots of different teams participating and Sebastian's little team played four matches one after another.

They were disadvataged because the opposing teams were meant to be between 4 and 6 years old and most of them were between 6 and 7 years old! There's a big difference between 4 and 7!

The teams they played were Sporting Krommenie, Purmerend, Zaanlandia and HSV. Sebastian is a member of NFC Brommer.

I'm proud to report that there was only one goal scored in error in our own goal, and that they drew admirably with the one team scoring 1-1, even though they were wiped out by the other three teams with scores of 6-0, 9-0 and 8-0. For their first big set of matches they did great!

Seb was keeper for two matches and did really well in the one where they were pitched against their own age, but the bigger children kicked so hard in the third match that I think he was afraid of being injured. He was very happy with his medallion, and very proud of his friend, Adel, who scored the one and only goal for their team in the tournament. Sebastian wants to bring home the trophy next time!

The moms and dads did a great job cheering!

And if anyone ever wanted an alphabetical per province list of all the football clubs in Holland, here's a handy link for you. It even tells you how to update your TomTom navigator with the addresses as Points of Interest.
