Zwaaien met jou been!

Yesterday at football Joe did the cutest thing, and of course, cutest things absolutely have to be recorded for posterity and where better to do it than here?

The little ones (ages 4 - 5) were all lining up to do a 'penalty shoot-out' and the way the trainer shows them how to do a really big kick is by saying.

'Zwaaien met jou been!' which translates to 'Wave with your leg!' so that they get that really big hard kick at the ball.

So all the other little boys run up to the ball, kick and run off again, but Joe runs up to the ball and as he reaches it the trainer says, 'Zwaaien!' to jolt his memory and provoke the correct response.

But for Joe it jolts the wrong sort of memory because he runs up to the ball, stops, kicks, turns around to the audience of moms and dads and waves with his hand.

As if to say, 'Thanks for watching me and please come again soon'.

The moms and dads were in literally rolling about laughing at the cuteness of it all and I'll be dining out on this story for years and years.

It even has the capacity to be a good wedding-speech story someday!

That's the cutest story :-) It made me laugh at how cute it must've been. This is one story to be kept and retold a thousand times at birthdays and yes it would be a great wedding-speech story.

This is truly the cutest kids-sports-story I've heard. Brilliant!
