Sheepish Designs Wabbit

This is Sheepish Designs 'Wabbit' stitched on 28 ct Dirty Linen with GAST.
I used the recommended colour, Brandy, for the rabbit body, but I wanted a purple for the carrot (especially as Holland is now growing purple carrots - did you know that was the carrot's original colour?) and the purple toned well with the rest of the pattern.
I added my initials and year and the initials of the recipient. The backing is the same striped patchwork fabric I used for the Prairie Schooler Spring and I made the hanger from that fabric too.
The button is another flower button, this time mother of pearl, from Paris. The little cushion is stuffed with toy filling and lavender.
This was stitched for Legacy Embroiderer's Sampler Rabbit Exchange.

Sweet! I love bunnies ~ sounds like a fun exchange.
I love it, such a cool design.
It's lovely Ash! So cute! Those wabbits are great.
I have a bone to pick with you - you made me fall off the Wagon! I have yet to confess properly on my blog, but I ordered Strawberry Garden from Elegant Stitch after seeing it was going out of stock so fast! I should know better than to click on links! ;)
Ooh, Nicki, I'm glad I enabled you LOL
Seriously though, the colours used for Strawberry Garden will take your breath away!
That's a cute finish! Congratulations! I've never really fancied these designs just from seeing the charts in ONS', but having seen yours and Su's recently, I might have to investigate further ;)
How adorable...so sweet and spring like.
Enjoy!!
You bunny is so cute!!
Gee that's nice. I keep coming back to look at it. I love the purple carrot. Have been tempted to grow them. ;o)
Ashleigh - your stitching is really beautiful - I don't know if its a good idea for me to visit your blog - it might entice me to buy more stash! LOL!
Seriously - your Wabbit, Spring Exchange and the Sunflower Charms finishes are all beautiful! I just recently picked up a couple loose feathers designs (including Sunflower Charms and Strawberry Garden) and I can't wait to get started on them!
Great job, Ash! It turned out beautifully!
I just happend to find your blog here and want to say how much I love your wabbit!! I want to do one of these wabbits too but yours is really beautiful! You do such nice stitching!
