My big boy is 6 today!

A few days ago I had a look through all of our photographs to try and find one from each year of Seb's life that capture the 'essence of Seb' perfectly so that I could share them with you.
Guess what? I ended up with about 200 pictures in picasa labelled 'Sebastian'!
It was so interesting to see how he has changed over his six years, and yet how he is intrinsically the same little boy that was born with his hands folded together like he was either wringing them or praying! We decided he would either be a priest or a politician (purely based on the hand position you see!)
This time six years ago I was in labour and Brad was feeding me plums while I sat in the birthing pool. Sebastian was born at 2.15 pm, weighed 3650g, and was 50cm long. It was a truly momentous occasion for us, and so much of our lives has changed since then.
Sebastian has lived in three different countries on two continents, learned a new language, seen friends come and go and he's still the same loving, sensitive boy he was all along.
Happy birthday my boy!

4 years old in the snow.
5 years old in the spring.
5 years old in the summer.

Lovely. Children think we celebrate their birthdays for their sakes. They have no idea we're also celebrating all the joy they bring us, the sheer miracle of having them as our own.
