This week's menus and a note about comments

I've had to turn comment moderating on because the spam bots found me! I know I shouldn't have blogged about the car but somehow having a car and writing about it means I need bigger accoutrements elsewhere upon my person! So, if you comment your comment will show up as soon as I get to read it in my email. Please don't stop commenting - I love comments!

Now, for this week's menu I'll be trying recipes from the March issue of Good Food magazine in amongst my own recipes:

Wednesday
- Chicken and green beans in red pepper and tomato sauce with mashed potato. I made this one up myself, so if its nice I'll share the recipe.
Thursday - Macaroni cheese. I'm definitely going to share my recipe, especially since I was delighted to read that its almost identical to the 'Ultimate Macaroni Cheese' recipe in the Good Food magazine for March! I just make it how my mom used to!
Friday - Pizza night!
Saturday - Mustardy pork steaks with apples and potatoes served with pumpkin and broccoli (GF)
Sunday - Oven-baked chicken pilau (GF)
Monday - Omelettes with ratatoiulle filling and sauted potatoes
Tuesday - Braised stuffed cabbage leaves with mixed vegetables. This is a family recipe (supposedly Afrikaans in origin) which I saw revisited on 'Hairy Bikers Cookbook' except they were in Romania when they made it! The cabbage is stuffed with a meatball mixture and braised slowly in the oven for two hours.

Phew! That's that then.

You're making me hungry with all this talk about food!

I'd be really interested in the braised stuffed cabbage leaves recipe if you're able to share it - it sounds good!

That settles it Ash, I'm moving IN. Between your stitching, house cleaning, and cooking, you put Martha Stewart to SHAME.

LOL, I'm certainly no Martha Stewart - I wish I was! But then I too may have had to wear that orange uniform ;)

Karen, I have to mess about with the recipe for the braised cabbage a bit and phone my mom for some tips, but once I have it I'll post the recipe! DH was going 'gah' when he read this week's menus so he may not be appreciative of the cabbage rolls ;)

Hi Ash, thanks for your comment over at my place! I have been remiss in posting my weekly menus, after such an enthusiastic start! But I've been so tied up with this back yard renovation, even though I still plan my menu, I just haven't got around to putting it on my blog. But I will get back to it. In the meantime I am enjoying yours!
