Blackbird Designs Garland Fair

I completed the last few stitches on this Blackbird Designs pattern last night. I love the verse and the colours. The pattern uses GAST Maple Sugar on 30 ct La Crosse Blend by R&R Reproductions. The back of the pattern leaflet includes a short lesson on Samplers from Pat Ryan at R&R Reproductions.

Next up on my list of things to do are my exchanges. Somehow I ended up subscribing myself to an Easter exchange on the Aion board, the SBEBB Spring and Eight-cornered cushion (biscornu) exchanges, and two exchanges on the Legacy Board - the Legacy Sampler Rabbit Exchange and Sampler Lady Exchange! Yikes! I am almost finished the Easter piece. I have chosen my design and amazingly had all the required threads for the Spring exchange! I don' t have my partner details for the other three exchanges yet but I have some ideas of what I want to make.

Tomorrow I'm going to the Handwerkbeurs with Nathalie, a stitching friend. I want to try and get some fabrics to finish some pieces, have a look at Annemiek's wonderful shop which will be there, and a few other shops that sell dollmaking accessories so are a wonderful source for things like wool roving. It will be fun!

Lastly, a note about Last.fm and it is the COOLEST thing since sliced cheese. Finally the internet has given us a radio player that gives selections based on preferences. My DH alerted me to this and I've been using it this morning and it seems to give me pretty accurate results based on my selections!

As for me, I'm back to finish re-grouting the toilet room! I did the vertical rows yesterday after scrubbing the tiles for hours, now today I get to do the horizontal bits. I'm also off to get some pansies to plant out in baskets by my front door. It feels very springy here today, even though we have snow and rain forecast for all of next week!

Ash, we're going to Amsterdam on Monday, but the times/locations are not fixed yet. I try to squeeze in at least one special day with Max when he has school vacation.

I LOVE the Blackbird Designs project. It's gorgeous! Have fun in Zwolle and good luck with your grouting.

HI Ashleigh,
You did such a lovely job on thsi project, and I too like the verse, though i will change the word 'spell' out of the verse to 'grace'. The color on thsi linen is lovely and very antique looking which I like as well. YOu certainly finished this in record time! Congrats on another great finish!

I can't believe how many exchanges you signed up for at one time! Whew! That ought to keep you up burning the midnight oil. Hope you finish them all on time.

Hugs,
Cathy

Hi Ash, thanks for posting on my blog! I just love your Blackbird Designs finish! That colour is just gorgeous. And which 'handwerkbeurs' is this you're talking about? Is it the one in Zwolle, or is it another one? Anyway, it's bound to be too far away from Maastricht, especially with these nutters celebrating Carnaval down here! Enjoy the beurs, though :o)

I love Blackbird Designs! Your finish is lovely! I know how easy it is to join in swaps! I am glad you joined the biscornu one! I also have several spring ones to get started!

Ash, your Blackbird Designs piece is gorgeous - awesome colour and design ... great finish all round :)) Also been loving your weekly menus - what an inspiration ... I think I'm going to have to get back into the habit of doing that again - I used to plan ahead all the time in my last flat, but now I'm on my own I've been very lazy! :D
