Four Albums You Can’t Live Without
No idea, listening to music is more a thing for me that one does, not a thing that one gets fixated upon. Unless of course, one is trying to play the piece of music oneself!

Juul, I do like it here most of the time, but I think the big difference with all those places I'd rather be (meestal tijdelijk jij weet??) is that the people are SO friendly!
Mozambique has the friendliest people I have ever met in my travels; Lesvos is lovely, the Greeks are so nice; Zimbabwe is my home country and in London there is no language barrier!
Some days I get annoyed with the social restrictions in Holland, that people are very cold to strangers and then I want to be somewhere warm (weather) and warm-hearted (people)!
Okie Dokie...I understand.
I think it's because we live most of the time indoors...?
And we don't want to be to meddlesome with an other?
But when you want to meet new friends, it's neccesary to go out doors, and join a few associations.
Also helping in school can help.
I live more than an hour away...
But I bet there are some nice Dutch people around you!
Have you ever visited the "Lapjesgaard", the Quiltshop in your town, they organise all kind of meetings, where you can meet "handwerkvriendinnen", maybe they know of more stitching related groups to?

Hang in there, Juul :o)
Hi Ash,
I'm just back from a long visit at:
www.expatica.com
I think it has a very negative atmosphere about living in the Netherlands, I can not recognize my own country/people ...
Take my advise and don't visit this side every day, it's so negative!
If you want to join in here, learn Dutch, although almost every one speaks English, it's better for understanding each other, believe me!
Also visit other areas than Amsterdam, visit the Waddeneilanden like Vlieland, Schiermonnikoog and Ameland, Terschelling when it's the Oerol festival...
Take a walk on the Loonse and Drunense Duinen, a very unique desertlike sand landscape in Noord-Brabant.

What I want to say to you is, explore the Netherlands, there's more than Amsterdam!
(I'm Dutch, and I would never live in Amsterdam...)
Try the country side, The Beemster in the North of Amsterdam, or Utrecht (province), join a walkingclub and exercise for the Vierdaagse in Nijmegen.
Training for it starts in Februari:

Just some suggestions, there's a lot more to do out there, just join the fun...
Juul :o)
I know it's not Amsterdam where you live, but you know what I mean.
(I hope?) :o)
Thanks for all the tips on places to go Juul :) I will have to tell my husband that we need that car!
Yoghurt
Cheese
Good bread
Good chocolate
Glad you like it here...or...am I mistaken:
