Sebastian's Kerstdiner

Sebastian had his Kerstdiner at school on Wednesday night. This is his second one and luckily last year I was forewarned about how big an occasion it is by a friend who had already experienced school Kerstdiners in Holland! Seb wore his smart pants and shirt with bowtie and little waistcoat and spent an awful lot of time getting his hair just right :) He also wore some of his dad's Acqua di Gio cologne so that he smelled nice and afterwards he told me he got to sit next to the teacher he likes the most! I made cupcakes and mincepies for the buffet and we dropped Seb, had some hot chocolate from the Koek-en-Zopie stand outside, rushed home with my friend Melissa, had roast chicken and roast potatoes and vegetables, then rushed back for more hot chocolate, some leftover snacks from the buffet and a rousing singalong of Christmas Carols on the schoolplein! We were singing louder than most of the other people and its not even our native language! I think the gluhwein that Melissa had must have helped ;)
Other news is that I had a driving lesson yesterday and my test is booked for 10.45 on 11 January which just happens to be my birthday! Eeek! The kitten is settling in well and is very naughty but cute at the same time. She woke up at 7 am today by knocking over my glass of water on my nightstand! She's very loving and playful most of the time and the rest of the time she just eats and sleeps!
The top picture is of Seb at our Christmas tree, all dressed up, the middle one is of his two teachers, Juf Carla and Juf Jacqueline and the bottom one is the tray of food I made for the buffet!
