I saw everyone was very interested in our kitten! She's coming tomorrow!

Its a long story, but someone I know from expatica here in Holland went into a petshop across the Belgian border and found these three tiny little kittens shivering in a freezing cold, unheated store-room in a shoebox sized cage with wet urine soaked straw on the bottom of it.

She says they were drenched with urine, and whatever it was that had wee'd in the straw was a different animal and the urine was burning the feet of the poor little kittens so they couldn't put their feet down and were almost dancing to keep off the straw. She asked the shop owner what was happening and he just grinned and shrugged so she ended up buying all of them and bringing them home. Apparently Belgium has very poor animal rights laws and there is no way of prosecuting offenders. She says if they had stayed in that unheated room at night in that cold and wet state they would have died!

Anyway, she has had these little kits at her house, two girls and a boy and she says they are about 4 - 5 weeks old. The man in the shop said they were 8 weeks! They had upset tums and she has had them dewormed and was trying to get their tummies better before giving them to their new owners. We said we will take one, but we aren't sure which one yet. She'll be bringing them to us tomorrow to let us choose which one likes us the most! I think we're going to settle on the littlest girl as the other two seem more suited to the other homes that have been found for them.

We went to the petshop here yesterday (a nice one, not at all like the belgian one!) and chose a cat bed, litter box, food bowls, food, toys etc! Seb succumbed last Saturday and used his pocket money to buy a jangly ball and the shop owner gave him a tiny kitten sized furry toy mouse :)

I've phoned the vet and registered with them and we are all set for kitten-madness! I guess my stitching won't be safe anymore??
