Yes, its that time of life for Mr Joe, who is way past when he should have been toilet trained and has been in nappies for far too long (he turned 3 in August), mostly because I have been too lazy to get myself together for the torment of wet spots, many pairs of pants to wash, etc. I had good intentions of doing this weeks ago but then I got sick and so life kept going on and Joe kept wearing nappies.
I was lucky with Sebastian who pretty much decided the week he turned 3 that he was going to go in the toilet from then on and that was it. Joe has been more recalcitrant with his toileting habits and has preferred the security of his nappy much more. But today was the day of abandonment of baby status and progression to big boy status! He is in training pants now, nice thick terry towelling pants from South Africa that I had kept from when Seb was smaller. We have never seen anything of the sort here in Europe so when I was getting ready to train Seb I asked Brad's mom to send these over. They're very absorbent so you don't end up with puddles on the floor, but they still make the child feel 'wet'.
He did the Superman thing for a bit when we first put his pants on him ;) I hope the feeling of being 'free' will encourage him that this needs to be a permanent situation for him.
We have a timer set in the kitchen for every 20 minutes and he has to go sit on his potty then and hopefully produce something! Only one accident so far and that was because we set the initial timer to 30 minutes which was a little too long.
Let's see how we go!

Let's see how we go!Don't you mean how he goes?
