Pseudo Doves Eyes

I worked on a hardanger piece yesterday and while I was working on the first medallion, followed the instructions (or so I thought!), completed the needleweaving, doves eyes and the picot in the centre and then realised that my doves eyes looked wrong. Grrrr! I went back to the instructions and noticed that I hadn't woven over when I should have and had kind of missed that part altogether!

I was too lazy to unpick it because unpicking those woven bars is a nightmare and the kids were acting up at the time, so I continued and finished all five of them. Now I'm a little dubious about whether or not they look ok. Do you think there is such a stitch as a 'pseudo doves eye'? Or does this stitch have a name? I think it looks alright, but I'm disappointed in myself.

It sucks being a perfectionist!
