My Baby is Three!

My baby is a baby no more .. Joe turned three yesterday and we had a great day out.
First, a trip to the hospital with Seb for his physiotherapy, which went pretty well, except Seb was soooo tired afterwards. Then home for a bit, onto the post office and the swimming pool in the Amsterdamse Bos and after that to Boerderij Meerzicht for Joe's party.
We had 10 kids and about 8 parents and the party that the restaurant put on for him was really nice. They had a table all decorated with ribbons and of course, the 'king' chair for Joe, then each child got crayons and a colouring sheet, a drink, an enormous pancake covered in powdered sugar and sprinkles, a container of sweeties including a sweetie necklace, a little flashing light toy, some bubble mix and some balloons! Wow!
Joe was really entranced by everyone singing 'happy birthday' and 'lang zal hij leven'. He had this look on his face that was a mixture of shyness and sort of a 'look at me - its *my* birthday!' expression. I've loaded some photos into flickr (link in the sidebar) if you want to take a look.
We ended up leaving the pancake house at about 5 pm. The party started at 3 pm. Once the eating was done all the kids disappeared into the playground and played themselves out for the remainder of the time. At the end they were dirty, tired and full of sugar - I think it was a success :)
