Legacy Sampler House Exchange

I completed my Sampler House exchange piece over the weekend to send off to its destination. I was a little disappointed that the ribbons I ordered didn't arrive in time which meant I had to re-think my finishing options. I ended up making a pillow out of silk dupioni in shades of blue to surround the little house which is a Prairie Schooler pattern. I think this would look great on a spare bed surrounded by other embroidered cushions.
I also received my Legacy Sampler exchange gift today from Melanie in TN, USA. I was completely overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of her gift. Not only was the stitching immaculate but she very thoughtfully included some mother of pearl buttons I was looking for as well as some rings for working hedebo on, some needles and the cutest stitching notepaper. I was so touched!
The little keeper she made me is beautifully worked in dark tones with claret accents on natural linen banding with a claret wool lining and edging. Its so beautifully personalised too on the inner and back of the keeper. I am truly speechless! I'll share a pic tomorrow - I need to wait for some good light.
Receiving my gift truly made my day!
