Today's Stitching Blogger's Question was:
Given the option, would you rather buy a chart and get the material and floss together yourself, or buy a pre-packed kit?
I'm not sure. If we're talking available in the shops everywhere with aida and DMC, then no, I don't like kits. But, if we're talking about class kits, specialist fabrics and finishing supplies that may not be available here, then I do!
I like charts because I don't have to keep so much stuff in stock (read cash outlaid on kits!) and I can substitute sometimes, although I very rarely end up doing so. If I do substitute it would be with Vikki's silks instead of the prescribed threads and to change the fabric to a higher count or to one that I have here in my stash.
