Stitching Blogger's Question of the Week - 25 May

How do you deal a "stitching slump?"
Well, considering I have one right now this question is very topical ... I didn't stitch for the first time in ages the other evening (ages being about 2 years!) and I know exactly what is demotivating me - its this model stitching I'm doing. Usually I would put away the item and pick something small and challenging to finish, like a hardanger ornament or one of those Victoria Sampler BCS kits and then when I'd done that I'd be all ready to go again. But, of course, I can't put this aside and it has to be done and I'm hating it! Yaaargh!
I only have three motifs to go now on the Sampler- a pear tree and two flower pots and then miles of over one text. I wonder if I will make my end May goal?
The other thing I've been thinking recently (which goes with my general feeling about life at the moment) is 'what's it all for?' I know I find it relaxing and enjoyable to stitch, but with the model stitching I haven't found it relaxing *or* enjoyable, and I feel as though I'm wasting my time. I hope this doesn't bode the end of my stitching altogether.
I'm also starting to get alarmed at all the clutter my hobbies generate, and keep everything tidy is a nightmare all on its own. I'd hate to end up being one of those people with no interests though so perhaps a bit of untidiness is better than a tidy and boring life.
