Invitation to ...

Seb got his first birthday party invitations this month. Now, before you say 'what's the big deal?' let me explain:
- We live in Holland.
- We are English speaking foreigners.
- Seb has been going to completely Dutch school since we arrived here in September 2003.
- He is the only English speaker there.
- Not once has he received an invitation to a party.
- His friends at school have received lots of invitations.
- This was a source of much wailing and gnashing of teeth on his part (and feelings of inadequacy on my part. Like 'if we lived in an English speaking country maybe he would have got invited and its our fault for living in Holland')
- After almost 3 years of co-existence he got two birthday invites!
