Books...

I just sold my first used book on amazon. Its Bad Dirt by Annie Proulx and it sold for a massive £5 :)

So today I'm wondering what everyone does with books they've read.

When I was in Africa (and had more space) I used to keep them and re-read. Here in Holland I have four bookshelves, overfilled to groaning and gathering dust. There are unread books on my shelves (which never used to happen before) and I have them all mixed up (the read and unread). There are also boxes of books in the store-room downstairs!

I can't justify keeping my books anymore, but neither can I get rid of them easily. There are no charity shops here that take English books. The American Book Store in Amsterdam takes the sci-fi and fantasy books for E1 each so I could take those there (a real schlep) or I can list them on amazon and hope they sell. I couldn't possibly throw them away.

I also have a terrible memory so what if I sell these books then end up buying them again because I can't remember if I read them or not! Aargh.
