Ikea Ikea!

Today I am visiting Ikea. I have loads of stuff to buy - light fittings, bathroom cabinets, bookshelves, shelves for our downstairs storage, hooks for the back of Seb's door, a curtain rail for my room. I'm going with my friend Natasja and her son Taighe who is three - the kids will have fun together! We're intending to share the transport costs making it 15 euros each for transporting the things home instead of 30 euros each.

Natasja told me that a few years back Ikea used to offer a free shuttle service from the nearest tram stop to their store saving everyone a fifteen minute walk. Then, and how strange (note sarcasm), the transport authority decided it was illegal for Ikea to offer transportation in competition with itself (even though it was free!) and so Ikea had to stop. How apt for Holland - a service that actually *is* a service and it gets disallowed.

More later.
